Warm Road to Recovery (Wren's Story)

Warm Road to Recovery (Wren's Story)

on

Let’s talk about the Non stop Dogwear Glacier jacket and how it’s been instrumental in both pre-op prep for Wren and post op recovery!

For those that don’t know Wren’s story she’s a 1 year old lab was born with congenital malformations in her spine and pelvis which were causing her immense pain.

With any orthopedic issue it’s so important to keep the joints and muscles warm to reduce the pain and stiffness and this was no different for Wren. Ensuring she was kept warm was vital.

Prior to her operation Wren wore her glacier jacket every time she left the house. She wasn’t able to go for walks but went out on little outings in her buggy to create some nice moments with her which simply wouldn’t have been possible without this amazing jacket and its PrimaLoft® Black Insulation. She was warmer than I was when we got caught in a snow downfall! It was such a special day and truly felt like the snow came just for her. She enjoyed a little stroll in her buggy warm and dry thanks to the impressive waterproof rating of 10,000!

She underwent surgery in January to fit custom metal plates and give her the pain free life she’s always deserved. Post op she was missing a lot of fur where they needed to shave her and was really struggling to keep warm as a result. Here’s where the glacier jacket really came in clutch for us! She was allowed 3-4 on lead toilet breaks each day and every one she’d have her jacket on. She even wore it in the house initially to help keep her temperature up. The easy on and off design was perfect so I didn’t have to manipulate anything that was sore as well as the full coverage it provides whilst not hindering mobility which was really important as she learned how to walk again.

She’s 3 weeks into her recovery now which consists of physio, laser, rehab walks and pen rest. Whilst she’s still a young dog, it’s just as important to protect her joints as it is with older dogs making the glacier jacket a must for all ages!

Now officially part of the bionic dog club it’ll always be important to keep her warm as those with metal implants can be susceptible to soreness & stiffness if the metal were to get cold which is why the glacier jacket will always be a staple in her wardrobe!

She’s a long journey ahead but I’m sure she’ll be back out adventuring soon thanks to all of her Non Stop Dogwear gear aiding her recovery!
